Wealthy suburban Charlotte North Carolina real estate is tucked into a rural corner of Mecklenburg and Union counties.  Known for its tremendous of community spirit and pride, the affluent community of Mint Hill NC real estate graces the beautiful rolling countryside.  Mint Hill, home to about 20,000 residents, is about 25 minutes southeast of uptown Charlotte real estate.

Mint Hill NC real estate offers a variety of neighborhoods and home styles.  Most residential real estate features a peaceful rural flavor.  With the opening up of the I-485 beltway, several new upscale home developments have joined this primarily residential community.  New pedestrian-friendly housing built near the town center emphasizes smaller lots, neighborhood parks, and a work-live environment.  However, there is also a community with horse properties and estate-sized lots and a community equestrian facility.  Homes in Mint Hill range in price from the $100,000 to over a$1,000,000. 

Before there were municipal water and sewer services, the large lots each had individual wells.  The abundance of large home sites continues today in the east side of town for the protection of the endangered heel splitter mussel in the Goose Creek basin.

Mint Hill offers numerous town parks. During the annual Mint Hill Madness festival and arts and crafts shows, the community opens up for lots of fun.  There is a natural walking trail in Wilgrove Park, soccer fields in Fairview Park, and plenty of recreational sports leagues operated by the Mint Hill Athletic Association.  Other recreational facilities include private and public golf courses and country clubs.

The town center and the historic Town Hall are located at the intersection of Lawyers and Matthews-Mint Hill roads.  The increased accessibility to all parts of Charlotte, including employment centers and the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, has opened the area to more commercial development such as shopping centers and office parks.  The construction of regional mall, The Bridges of Mint Hill, adds a new shopping and entertainment district elected by a series of bridges over the beautiful Goose Creek.  There are currently 300 businesses and professional services available.

Many families choose this community because of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, one of the finest school systems in the United States.  Four of its high schools are on the Newsweek Magazine list of Best in the U.S.  The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is approximately 30 minutes from town.

First settled in 1750, the rather young community finally incorporated in 1971 with a population of 2,300.  The current population is approximately 20,000 and includes many lifelong residents who add stability to the area.  The sense of community and strong family ties are characteristic.  In fact, the plethora of churches, schools, recreational facilities, and open space, and community spirit make this an ideal place to live and work.
